The malazan version of the Book of the Fallen takes place at the same time as the original, but includes additional elements as well. For example, it covers the succession of the Malazan Empire, the situation on Korel, the mystery of Assail, and the rebirth of the fallen. It also features the characters Kyle, Crimson Guard, and Karsa Orlong. Besides these, the game also has an interesting storyline.
The first part of the series opens with the Dramatis Personae, a short story about the characters. Burn, the earth goddess, is believed to dream reality. Caladan Brood wields a great hammer with the power to awaken the burning goddess. In the second part of the book, Caladan brood's character tries to awaken her, but her quest is not easy.
The plot of the Malazan Book of the Fallen is divided into three rotating arcs, with a huge number of subplots. Interestingly, the novel begins in media res, with very little exposition, and converges in a central myth arc. Despite the soaring fantasy world of the series, it does not feature any particularly emotional characters. Rather, it focuses on a group of people who are trying to save the world.
The Book of the Fallen does not feature a great deal in terms of features, but it does have a free spins feature. Players trigger the feature by landing three scatter/wild symbols on the reels. During the free spins, the player can choose from a bonus expanding symbol, which can appear on any reel and does not have to line up adjacently to other symbols. A few new bits make Book of the Fallen worth playing.
